Everyone is invited to Taco Bell tomorrow for a special Thursday meeting of Taco Bell Drawing Club. The usual drawing (though there is nothing "usual" about the drawings at Taco Bell Drawing Club!) will be happening--the meeting will also be the official release of the third photography book by Michael Worful and me. The books come with two prints (one by each of us). They are limited to 22. The first two books in the series are sold out.
Do not worry, the books will not get greasy, we have ziploc bags.

There is a meeting today, Wednesday November 3, 2010, at the 14th Street Taco Bell from 4 until about 5:30pm.
Also, several members of Taco Bell Drawing Club will be in attendance at The New York Art Book Fair this weekend at PS1. I also hear they may be some rare back issues of Taco Bell Drawing Club Volumes available at the fair.

Taco Bell Drawing Club Second Place Tote Bag Stranger Competition!!
A member in California recently mentioned how her Taco Bell Drawing Club Tote Bag had been traveling with her all the way up and down the west coast! I thought it would be fun to have a contest to see who could be the first person to spot a stranger carrying one of the bags. Unfortunately, before I could announce the contest a friend emailed to say he saw a stranger with one of the tote bags! We are going to have the contest anyway. Be the second (or third) person to spot a stranger carrying one of the tote bags, let me know, and I will mail you, and the other person, a page of giraffes (one of the ones above).
Official Rules and Regulations:
The person you see has to be a stranger. This makes the contest more fun, and maybe you will meet a nice new person. I trust you to comply with this, but if the stranger has the same last name as you and they look like an older version of you, I might be able to figure out it is your mom.
When you email (art@jasonpolan.com) tell me your address, you can mention the other person’s name, but have them email me too. It would be weird to meet a stranger and ask them for their address. It would not be weird to meet a stranger and tell them you are a member of Taco Bell Drawing Club.
You do not have to be carrying your tote bag (or membership card) during your sighting, but it helps your chances in this competition. Also, it helps the other person verify you are a member and not just making casual conversation.
The sighting can be anywhere except at a Taco Bell Drawing Club meeting.
There will be a meeting of Taco Bell Drawing Club tomorrow, Wednesday, August 11, 2010 from 6 to about 8pm at the Taco Bell on 14th Street just west of Union Square. This will be a good place to get a tote bag if you do not have one yet!

We had several new members at Taco Bell Drawing Club San Francisco. It was great mix of new faces and people who had been members since before there was a Taco Bell Drawing Club. Also, we were all treated to a Forward Moonwalking lesson by the preeminent scholar of moonwalking in the Northwestern United States. I thought it was a camera trick but then I remembered he was doing it on the chair next to me.

I am excited to announce that Taco Bell Drawing Club is five years old! We have grown from one member to over 150 laminated membership card holders, we have made exclusive apparel (a t-shirt), we have had meetings in over 25 states, we have made over 10 books, and we have drawn a lot of terrific pictures!
There will be special meetings over the next month all over the country. A meeting will take place this Thursday from 7:15pm on at the Taco Bell on 14th Street in Manhattan. The following week there will be meetings in San Francisco, Oakland, and Sacramento, and the week after that there will be meetings in the Los Angeles Area. There are also upcoming meetings in Michigan. If you have meetings planned near you let me know and I can put them on this blog.

There is a Taco Bell Drawing Club today. Normal time normal place normal day. 4:00-5:30 Taco Bell 14th Street just West of Union Square Wednesday March 31.
There was a Drawing Club last week at Taco Bell #01999. It might have been the best dining experience at a Taco Bell in my history going there. There was table service! One of the employees walked around with a tray of cinnamon twists asking if anybody wanted any!!

There will be a Taco Bell Drawing Club this Sunday, January 31, 2010 from 3 to 4:30 at 4150 Geary, in San Francisco (at the corner of Geary and 6th Avenue). I will bring supplies and will also have some of the new t-shirts available! They are $7 each (we are saving up for new membership cards). I hear this Taco Bell is a Kentucky Fried Chicken too! Yikes.

I am hearing reports from members in the Midwest and in California about the new Taco Bell Drive Thru Menu and a commercial about how a lady substituted one meal a day for Taco Bell and lost something like 61 pounds. I think this is a great idea!?!
